SES was retained by a local school district to identify, prepare, and abate specified asbestos within the elementary school, middle school, and high school.

The elementary school was built in 1919 and was approximately 30,000 square feet. Throughout multiple phases, we were able to abate 8,000 linear feet of Non-friable asbestos-containing material and limited PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) from the bathroom flooring and exterior caulk.

Simultaneously, we had another crew working on the nearby Middle School/ High School. This building is approximately 40,000 square feet and was built in 1965. We abated about 200 Non-friable square feet and 70 Non-friable linear feet from exterior louvers and ceiling mastic.

Finally, the material was loaded into permitted vehicles and transported off-site via nonhazardous and hazardous waste manifests to the approved designated facilities.
