Asbestos Abatement/Utilities Separation/Environmental Decommission, Eastern Michigan

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Abatement of 1,150 tons of friable asbestos and 3,700 tons of non-friable asbestos-containing material
  • Removal and disposal of 12+ loads of Special Waste (Universal Waste, Mercury, Contaminated RR Ties, Refrigerants, Contaminated Soils)
  • Abatement of all friable asbestos insulation from 110’ tall boiler house units

SES was hired to abate and remediate an old coal powerhouse as well as a stormwater treatment facility in Michigan.

We were responsible for asbestos abatement of respirators, chillers, and three-story tall boiler house units that required specialized containment shelters. (Pictured above).

We then remediated the 1-acre retention basin next to the storm water treatment plant. This consisted of the abatement of lead, PCBs, mercury, heavy metals, and industrial chemicals.

All waste and contaminated materials where then loaded and transported to an approved, off-site facility to be disposed of properly.
