Industrial Cleaning & Asbestos Abatement, Western New York

Project Highlights

  • Asbestos abatement within active facility
  • Mercury release identification and remediation
  • Confined space ink vessel cleaning
  • Facility elevated surface cleaning
  • Emergency COVID-19 disinfecting

SES was retained by a large industrial facility to assist with multiple environmental issues related to the previous operation of the industrial facility, including hazardous waste identification and spill response, process tanks and equipment cleaning, abatement of asbestos pipe insulation, and floor tile and mastic.

SES removed asbestos from several long steam line pipe chases and removed two layers of vinyl flooring and the associated mastic glue.

While on-site conducting the abatement activities, the client notified SES that a mercury release had been discovered in another part of the facility and requested SES to investigate the area for evidence of such.

SES isolated the area and identified three locations containing visible mercury on the floor.  The client requested that SES immediately remediate all areas affected by the mercury releases.

SES was able to successfully isolate the contamination and complete the cleanup in a timely manner without affecting plant operation.

As part of the ongoing maintenance activities at the facility, SES conducted several cleaning activities.

SES conducted confined space entry cleaning of several ink process tanks and vessels.  In addition, SES completed the cleaning of all surfaces from floor to ceiling within the manufacturing area working from aerial lifts. This work was conducted during scheduled shut-down periods, so the facility operations were not disrupted.

SES also completed multiple emergency COVID-19 disinfecting events at the facility as requested.
